Carlos, Alvaro, and Sebastian Ortega were born in Puerto Rico to Cuban parents and raised in Miami. When they watched their favorite Coconut Grove spots disappear one by one, they decided to do something about it.
They took over the convenience store on Bird Ave and turned it into Bodega Ortega — a place built for the community, by the community. After losing their mother in 2025, they wanted to create somewhere that feels like belonging. Somewhere you can walk in, talk to someone, and feel like family.
"Welcome home. We'll see you at the bodega."
Bodega Ortega is more than a counter and a coffee. We host regular get-togethers for the neighborhood, so there's always a reason to stop by.
